Why do Americans and Europeans look older for their age? When one is only 20, s/he looks like 25, and when s/he is about 32, they suddenly look as if they are at least 7-10 years older !
Besides the fact that most people in those continents have dry skin which accounts for early signs of lines and wrinkles on their skin, I am guessing it’s also got to do with the food they eat. Western food contain a whole lot of preservatives and sodium, but they seem to enjoy eating those stuff. Junk food like burger and fries are regular parts of their diet. And oh yes, those darn drinks - soda … Well, not all, but most that I know are kinda addicted to those sinful drinks.
I bet no one who reads my blog and sees my pic will be able to guess correctly my age. I’ve been told that I’m 25, sometimes 30 …. but hey, I’m older than that … Statistics will prove that Japanese people live longer and healthier than people in other parts of the world. It’s also easy to notice how youthful and radiant most of them look :)
I drink a lot of Japanese Green Tea everyday. I am a huge fan of Pepsi and Mountain Dew, but have limited those unhealthy drinks drastically. I also use a number of Green Tea facial products. I use Ginvera Green Tea Eye Cream, plus Watson’s Green Tea Antioxidant Pore Minimizing Gel every night.
Besides Antioxidant properties that is said to help prevent cancer and rapid aging, other health benefits of Green Tea include controlling blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, blood sugar, it also kills bad bacteria and virus in the body and protects teeth. And of course, for me at least, I love the taste of Japanese Green Tea. Chinese Green Tea is a little bitter but I’m fine with that too ….
I started drinking Green Tea some 10 years ago. I was diagnosed with early stage of kidney failure. I had to take full blame for the problem as I was eating too much salty stuff like salted fish and anchovies. I loved munching them almost every day, alas … it led to kidney problems. I really thank God that it was just the initial stage. During a chance medical examination, doctors found traces of sodium in my kidneys and urine. They gave strict orders for me to stop eating salty stuff and start drinking plenty of plain water to flush out those darn toxins … I must say that was the drastic turning point in my life towards a healthy diet.
I wasn’t much of a Christian then, but without my knowledge, my Christian friends had started praying for me. They were also looking out for me when we went out to eat, making sure nothing salty was served to me … Two years later, doctors certified that my kidneys were totally clean, no more traces of sodium …. Praise the Lord !
Not only have I been blessed with total healing and brand new clean kidneys as well as wisdom of knowing about right diets, but also youthful looks because of healthy eating … Of course prayers helped too. The Bible says God will renew my youth like an eagle’s (see Bible quote above) :)
Of course the fact that I’m neither a smoker nor drinker also helps … I do love red wine through … My Mom drinks red wine (Yomeishu) every night and she’s one of the most healthiest person I know :)
Guess I’ll just stick with Green Tea for now …. and age gracefully !
Cheers ! :)
